I have recently joined thercmodelboatforum in my 71st year after being retired for just over 3 years.
My first introduction to making and sailing rc model boats was when I first left school and saved-up my apprenticeship wages to buy my first two channel Launch Link radio control system to use with the Aerokits Swordsman that I had just completed as my first build.
I ran the boat on the River …

I use to build model sailplanes as a kid. I purchased my last sailplane shortly before ending my time at the university in 1985. After an eventful and in summary very satisfying profesional time I lost my last job after the Internet hype exploded in 2000. After finally facing the grim reality as a former director of business development at a large us telecommunication company I decided to …

Hi everyone. I'm recently retired and have taken up building model boats, mainly to keep my sanity! I spend lots of time on the road in our motorhome so it's good to have something to aim at when we're back home. I've only built a couple of models and turned to this site for some help with my Billings Thames Barge - should have started looking earlier or delayed starting the build!

Hi, I have lots to learn. My plan is to build an 'Aeronaut Classic Boat'. This will be my first attempt at an RC model boat building. Be prepared for lots of questions about glues, paint finishes, RC equipment etc.

Just joined can't say I'll be the most prolific poster as I'm a bit wary as I've had a bit of a bad time at the other place. I'm mainly interested in powerboats but I've got a yacht that I dabble with though I'll never join the race crowd!
At present I'm cleaning up a Graupner Pegasus i bought just after Christmas and hope to relaunch once the weather stops moving so fast.

Thank you for admittance to this group. I think many members already know me. Hi to them.
For other members I'm from Leeds in UK and I was a late starter in modelling but I have a few years behind me now.
I'm largely quite confident about my building and frequently experiment in construction techniques, sometimes very successful but if not most things can be recycled [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
