hi,
yes i will be putting on as per order by NPH651 some build logs of them soon, they have been built over the past 11 years, i hope to try to get some younger veiwers to keep the model boat building going. if i can show one person to try then i will be happy. all my materials are obtained from of cuts what i find then cut into planks..i bye 1/16 ply , but very little else if i can as like most money is an issue, as i have proved you dont need to break the bank to build a boat. if you bye the free plans in magazines, then start by building a simple chine then work up to planks my first was the pilot boat in marine modelling i will post a pic of it. this was built from 1/16 birch ply sheet with fire hydrent pumping water out with car washer pump
this one was built totaly from scrap ply from a plan in model boats again nice starter boat.
thats it for now few more to come so come on get building

hi, this boat started of as thomas kirk wright of the plan , but found that makeing the hotchkiss cone was going to take a lot of thought and testing. so i changed it to be another watson, only called PRINCE DAVID the (clue is in the name why.) based in barry docks, not haveing a lot to go on i used the drawings from the book LET NO THE DEEP by A D Farr excelent book and a couple pics from a book i bought Lifeboat in Dangers hour by Patrick howarth. and now ahead of plan it is finished bar the sails deciding weather our not to bother.

Hi David What a great collection.
Your Waverley in the 1st pic, background looks like the pavilion Weymouth. The Model Boats pusher, same here, I built one scaled up slightly for my wife to use in tug towing comps. All excellent models, some I have seen in the flesh as it were.
But I like the unusual so your dumb barge gets my vote.
PS I will have to go through MMI to see if I can find that plan.

hi, thanks for comments. the picture of waverley was taken at the model boat convention when it was at birchwood now at haydock race course. not been to Weymouth. always wanted to go to there show now defunct I believe. I will see when the plan was printed for dumb barge not sure, it could be motorised I have done that with the crane with speed controller but tends to go a bit fast. you are the first person to ever comment on the dumb barge

My mistake it was the stepped ceiling and the large windows down the left side. We used to exhibited at many different shows, now age, vision and memory now taking its toll. Weymouth SWAMBC International Maritime Modelling Festival, we had our models there and only missed 1 out of the 17years it took place. It was disappointing when things wound down, but understandable, with the loss of the venue in 2012 for the Olympics. I did agree with the decision, that it was an appropriate time to end.
If you can let me know when the dumb barge was published, not very organised with magazine storage (I blame a house move for that). if not I will have a word with Barrie S.
Edit:- just noticed, you have added the information I need. (Should have gone to specsavers)

hi barrie, they are scratch built from a plan in radio controlled model boats nov-dec 1985 . I hope to put the build log on here very soon, just sorting out photos of the fourth one I am building now. I have now sorted out how to post photos again, (I seem to have had a mental block being unable to post photos on my new laptop ). the completed ones I built years ago but recent arrival of fourth grand daughter, I thought I had better do one for her, so watch out for my build. it is a perfect boat for the young ones as it is very well built sturdy and crash proof which you will see.

hi swab,
made the paddles myself, there not perfect but do the job, they run on separate motors on belts, like tank steering. i have a video but dont have a clue how to put on here. the plan was from marine modelling years ago. showed a lot at club regattas at colwyn bay and won a few times. my bucket list is to sail on here but every time something stops it happening bad weather etc. etc.

I have seen this:-
If you go to 'forum rules, Site Help & Announcements on the home page. Click on it and then look for 'Viewing And Uploading Videos From Youtube'
Hopefully this will help.
I don't know what happened with the different colour text may be something to do with copy & paste !

Don't fret about the video you've told me what I needed and thanks tank steering seems to give quite good manouverability for a long vessel.
