Hi All from South Africa. My Name is Ian and I am at present building an Aerokits Sea Queen from the new Jotika Kit in order to survive retirement. ( The brain cells are still very active). lol! I have a model engineering workshop that after a large theft I am converting to a Model Boat Shed. Used to build 5" Gauge live steam locos. The reason I went for the Sea Queen is that I built one when I was seventeen and it had a ED Racer Diesel in it, now o longer allowed n most parts due to noise No No

Thanks
I don't put much faith in the Manual supplied by Aerokits. They want to assemble the bulkheads onto the Keel and position shape and pin the false rebates, using no jig, it ends up very floppy so must figure a way around this. Also changing the motor as I have seen this build with supplied motor and I am 65 and can walk faster ordered an MFA 850.Going to Jig this a 46" hull I don't want to twist. I have a SLEC UK Aircraft fuselage jig Which will easily adapt. Well I hope so. The Keel has the skeg built in so a bit of work awaits Very Happy Very Happy

Roadrunner is too modest Ian.......he is the master of aerokits building...…...but as he says there is a great collective wealth of knowledge on this great and happy site...….any problems will be resolved if only we ask.

good luck with the build and post plenty of photos.

neil.

I do like the old style kits that’s for sure... as for being a master... I appreciate the compliment, but I’m just an amateur enthusiast with more time on my hands than i’ld like!
