Small RNLI Severn refit Empty
PostSubject: Small RNLI Severn refit   Small RNLI Severn refit EmptyTue Jan 17, 2017 4:18 pm

I was asked to refit one of the small scale RNLI models of the Severn class with a limited time available for completion!

This was to be a static display model so the complication of r/c was removed from the equation!

The starting point was one of several models of this type I have aquired over time.

The whole thing was taken apart and all the fittings removed. The numbers and decorations were also removed. There followed a full repaint in the current colour scheme of black anti foul and galvanised painted fittings. Parts were replaced as needed to improve the look of the model, e.g. a new mast structure, and extra details were added. When all had been re-assembled the result is shown below.

The boat was also fixed onto a display stand, based on the current practice at Poole for boats on the hardstanding out of the water.
