A still spring around the engine block attached with screws to the muffler.
Admittedly I used this method to mount a tuned pipe on a smaller 2.5cc Super Tigre motor in the early 1970's with no blow by issues at all.
Or perhaps a hose clamp cut in two with ends screwed to the muffler would allow a firmer fit to a 60 sized motor.

Damien.

thanks i hadn't thought of that
i have a muffler and a hose clamp just need a tap & die set to put bolts on the muffler
talking of putting threads in things has any one tried drilling the engine and putting threads in the head
or is that just too risky

Dont under any circumstances drill the motor, you will not get a good fit and the stress on the crankcase will distort or crack the casting
