is there any way the mods can get rid of these pop up boxes at the top of the page, today I got a you have a new message and as we recive and send messages on this site I clicked on it , it turned out it wanted me to download softwer so nothing to do with the site, someone who is not use to computers (and there are a few on model boat sites) may down load some softwear that may harm there computer.

I don't get them either. Depending on your search engine you can disable pop ups on your machine, which should stop it happening..That said, I am not sure how to do it.......Phil, where are you?????? Sad

The pop 'ups' your getting are from the browser you are using and nothing to do with the forum, the only think that is remotly close to popups on the forum is the adds at the top of the page, depending which brouser you are using you will have to disable 'popups' yourself.

This can be done in the browsers 'settings' or via your Anti-Virus program. if your having issues pm me the details pls i will see if i can help you sort it out.

I saw that one Peter, I think they are just adverts rather than pop-up's, I have my pop-up blocker set on high and the advert is always there, just differs from day to day.

I have my blocker turned off because one or two sites I use have to open other pages and the blocker was stopping me ,
