I hope they had insured it if it cost them a quarter of a mill...………..based on an inland waterways Dutch barge, with all that top hamper and little freeboard, I could have told them that that would happen...………….having owned a narrow boat it doesn't take a genius to work out that risk assessment...………

I'm amazed the MCA  allowed it to undertake the passage...……...or perhaps the tow company didn't notify them...…

as for it being prepared……….I just loved the way the boarded up windows soon popped out with the inrush of water compressing the air...……..prepared my arse, lol.

THINK THE ONLY THING THEY PREPARED WAS A TOW ROPE. drunken drunken drunken

Anyone call either total incompetence or insurance job... I’m going for the latter. Although the first helped!

it actually just makes me laugh...…..what a cock up, or very clever scam...……...and to have the lifeboat there at the time to video it's demise...……..timed to perfection to get the boat there to catch it's dying moments...……...they must think the authorities and insurance company are stupid.....…….and to price it at a 1/4 of a mill...………….it reaks of a scam.....

What the heck was in the bow to make it go bow first?
Even if the motor was amid ship the weight of prop & shaft plus fake paddle wheel would put balance point somewhat to the stern of half way.
