Collets Empty
PostSubject: Collets   Collets EmptyWed Nov 19, 2014 10:17 am

Can anyone point me in the direction of some collets I can use on my 6mm rudder shaft, I can find smaller ones on Ebay but not 6mm.

What are they used for in general ? I have seen very big ones used as a stop on a shaft in machines, is this what they are made for ?

Thanks in advance Collets Tipmehat

Most f the collets you will find are in imperial type units - in fact Gauges. They are used by the flyers for holding their wheels. You probably wont find exactly 6mm, but I found some 5mm and some 6.8 in a quick eBay search. What I usually do is buy the nearest size smaller and drill them out.
