hi, and welcome to the site...……..

in answer to your question regarding motors.

the club holds each year a meeting of vintage power boats...….and quite a few sea commanders and queens can be seen sailing on the lake.

most these days operate with a brushless motor on lipo's, but still some like the traditional glow or diesel ICE motors, ………….and Fleetwood is one of the very few lakes left in the country that allows ICE boats to still operate and sail.

I know sod all about either motor, but it seems that brushless is the way to go these days, especially if you live within the catchment area wher ICE  boats are NOT allowed to sail.

but if you go down the route of either, there are very knowledgeable members on here to help......they just need waking up.

neil.

Il’d run an overlander thumper 1500kv brushless outrunner ( just google overlander.co.uk and check their website off the top of my head it’s model number 5245?... I just know it as their 1500kv outrunner.. usually £36)

You’ll know it’s the right one as it’s 450w and required a 30amp brushless esc...

The esc is simple any semi decent 30 amp brushless esc will do although I would recommend the seaking 30 with water cooling (30 squid on eBay) but a cheap 30-50 amp will work ok which u can eBay for maybe £10 or less!

Both esc and motor can run on nhmi stick packs (rc car types) or up to a 3s lipo.
