An absolutely great fun racing format this and a reasonably cheap way to have some great fun as long as enough club members get involved. Highly recomended

Well I'll have to give the club 500 a miss Malcolm has found the cheapest freight cost is 43 quid or about $144 for the kit plus freight just a few tads too much and offers no loss or breakage insurance.

That's always a problem with importing things, the cost of importing it!

In this case its only worth the expense if importing in a bulk quantity, which i recently learned my lesson on by importing the delta force FE hull from the USA it ended costing me Twice the price with delivers and added import tax, if i had known for the extras i would have purchased the carbon/kevlar hull from the UK at the same price. (better hull)

Or wait until a retailer can import and supply locally at a more reasonable price.

((suggestion there to make a killing on the Australian market?))

however... 114.00 AUD = 72.63 GBP is really not that bad with delivery.. ok yes no insurance, but your only looking at a further $5-10 added to the cost, which is still pretty good for an import, considering it costs us in the UK £52.50 (82.40 AUD) delivered and yours is being posted half way around the world.

Another option would be the get hold of the MFA piranha or look on ebay see what else you can get for the cash equivalent.

Gee the piranha hulls are still around I had one with a Super Tiger 2.5cc glow motor in the early 70's.

I was hoping to use a smallish reasonably fast boat to try and get interest in boats it's a shame a 220 hectare lake is not used for any form of modelling apparently it's just high school rowing and small 1 man yachts as it's not very deep was the rowing site for the '56 Olympics.
I'll see if a airboat will pique any interest.

Damien here are a couple of links that may help you get interested in faster boats your side of the world.

http://www.ampba.asn.au/ (Australis model power boat association)

http://shipmodelsvic.org.au/index.php?page=hobby-shops (list of online stores that sell kits of boats)

there are quit a few more i found after some goggling, so might be worth your time, also check out the Chinese market they are a big distributor in Aust, so prices and types of boats will be there, ebay is a good way to find them to start off with, then look for off site web pages.
