BUT if you are going to break down on the M6 Motorway, do it in the Lakes District where the views are lovely, lol...…….

I think there's a lake around here somewhere,

a blow out on the rear off side tyre at 80mph...……..

I was driving so knew what to do...………..I hate to think what would have happened if Rachel had been driving, as she has only been driving 2 years...…….I dialled 999 as I was actually frightened as we were very close to a bend, downhill slope and it was an offside tyre...…..plus, there are no motorway phones over the tops there...….anyway the traffic management officer came out and strategically placed his vehicle with lights going about 2o or so meters behind me to protect us, and Rachel and I changed the wheel.

when I got into kwikfit in Carlisle and the fitter n I looked at the tyre......there was a hole in the centre of the tread about 10 mm in diameter...……….we both said almost together, an old repair and the vulcanised plug has blown out...………..that's why I ALWAYS  buy a new tyre if I get a nail in one...……...not worth the small monetary saving...………..just glad it wasn't a front tyre.
