Raf Rescue Launch St 1502...This was based in Penrhos and pwllheli during the War years and was in fact looked after by my Grandfather WJ Gould at Tocyn Brwyn Harbour in Pwllheli...he was a civillian who was in charge of her.

This will be a no holds barred warts and all build

The glue I will be using is Gorrila pva wod glue and also their Cyno....found it to be superb on all types of wood so far.

I will not be using balsa for the hull but 1/16th ply this is simply because of strength...yes ok you can cover the balsa with a epoxy cloth but I am trying to keep costs down.

Motive power so to speak at the moment is open to debate as I am not to sure whether to power with a pair of conventional motors or go brushless jury is out on that one.......

What has really surprised me is that the very craft is still afloat and has been fully restored

I then started to glue it all together and checked every bulkhead not only the level but also vertical and left to right so to speak....This was baisically to make sure the skeleton doesn't have a twist( I HOPE)

I decided to do a bit of belt and braces on the transom as I wasn't very happy with it so I braced the top of it....well you wont see it when the deck is on

when she's finished dave, i'll bring my model of the shorter boat down and we'll meet somewhere and have a sail together...…….but I do prefer summer sailing lol...…

I'm a wuzz and hate cold weather.

I can see the unmistakable lines of your boat coming together...…..they are lovely boats.

Well thanks to nhp651 my reading material arrived today in the form of an article of how to build the st200 also my del of some plywood 8 sheets 1/16th and 3 of 1/32 arrived from Mobile Marines  so this should keep me quiet for a while.

I phoned a good m8 of mine to ask him if he had a copy of the plan and he would look for it....a call back ltr and he is sending me up plans for 5 others and is still looking ....heres hoping

As i needed to bend some wood around the hull stingers as ive got a few more to build I decided I needed a steamer to do so.

A couple of hours later I had built a steam box which will be fully insulated and has a copper pipe running through  it with holes for the steam, the stem will be created by a kettle which will have a copper pipe silver soldered to it's spout and then I will simply connect a heater hose off a car to this and the stub that coming out of the box,if for any reason my pipe that has been drilled doesn't work I will simply chop it off and allow the steam to just go into the box, lets hope it works
