| I have completely stripped it, cleaned it and set it up, that bit I can manage, so that's £130 saved. All I have to do now is learn how to use it I am hoping to make all the pulleys for the shrimper on it, but they are very small. I will have to make something to show the wife, to warrant buying it, the one thing I have made up to now is a lot of swarf Alan | |

| Well I have learned four things already. 1 Don't join the wrong forum for lathes and get told off for having a foreign import 2 Lots of swarf on the machine looks as if you know what you are doing when a buddy comes round 3 After metal has been turned it is hot, blister on index finger 4 Use the tail stock, otherwise you get different sizes as the metal distorts Steep learning curve this turning thingy Alan | |

| Alan don't discard all that swarf scrunch it in to balls and your missus has new pot scrubbers and if the job gets hot enough to burn your fingers your cuts are too deep or use a coolant oil if the lathe has one fitted if not a car screen washer pump does a good job for me. Cheers, they are fun tools. Damien. |
