MTB Vosper 1:35 Empty
PostSubject: MTB Vosper 1:35   MTB Vosper 1:35 EmptyThu Jun 28, 2012 9:19 am

I have nearly finished my latest project, an MTB kit made by Italeri 1:35, I can recommend this kit it is well made and went together very well.

I intented to scratch build a submarine but changed to an Oil Tanker which I was on in the 60's Tudor Prince. So I needed more wood, so I visited my favourite model shop near Epsom. My wife spotted the new MTB model and suggested I purchase it, good idea !!!, I didn't need any more pressure from her so I bought same along with wood!!!!

I am installing RC etc but I wondered about making the gun platform revolve, any hints please, I have looked at "Marks bits" and there is a small motor which may do the job.

It has also been suggested "sound " any thoughts on this one ??

Many Thanks

looks excellent mate and regarding the sound I agree chat to Dave milbourne at action electronics. he may have some suggestions on motorizing the turret too. not the cheapest supplier but his kit does do exactly what it says on the box ! always a bonus !

I'm just about to start this model and will convert it to RC.  I'm researching ideas on construction but still have a some grey areas. Couple of questions on your propulsion set-up.

Props:  how many did you use and what prop diameter?
Prop Shaft: how long?
Battery: what type & size?
Rudders: do you happen to have a picture of your rudder linkage & servo connection?
Battery location: presumably mid ships on centre line?
Ballast: did you add any? In the picture, your MTB is sitting right on the waterline (& looking good).  Was this after you added the RC components & ballast?

This is my 3rd RC model(newbie) and first plastic kit conversion. I'd appreciate any info.

Many thanks.
