My first Real boat.

This is a old picture of my first boat, a Shakespeare 12 ft 6 in Sports boat.
When I first bought it it was fitted with a 40 HP Mercury, but I was not happy with that so fitted a brand new 60 HP Mercury 3cyl special.
Boy did that thing fly, 57 knots no problem with a 17in pitch prop = to about 65 MPH.
It even beat the Shearwater Cat from the Isle of Wight And my mates 16 FT Phantom with a 150 HP Mercury, he wernt happy I woz 
We would go from Hamble slip to the IOW for a day out, it took 12 mins to get there at full throttle, 1 hour by Red Funnel.

30 MPH on water, IS Equivalent to 100 MPH on Land. 
 

I swear if i ever got a real boat i'ld sail off into the sunset and bear grill(s), it never to be seen again 

I do have fantasy's of building my own boat from scratch, maybe one day if i move closer to the sea.
