Went to Milestones museum in Basingstoke,brilliant well worth a visit

Mark thanks for that photographic trip round what looks to be a tremendous day out. Came as a slight shock to me as I grew up from being 7 till I finished my carpentry apprenticeship and joined the army at 19, in Tadley just 9 miles from Basingstoke so I knew the town well back in the late 60's / early 70's

Nice that Mark, looks like a good place to visit.



There is a real good one in HULL called Street life, having a few nights there at the end of the month, nostalgia trip as thats where we both grew up.

I think in UK the daddy of this type of museum is Beamish in County Durham.

If you are ever up the the frozen northeast its well worth a visit.

Hey - isn't that street beggar/urchin the one Mark from Portsmouth has his photo taken with in the other thread? Or do all beggars look alike?

Agree with you Geoff,Beamish is great,Black country in Birmingham is also a good visit.

Dave this nice bloke called Mark came up and gave me tuppence for some pics,us urchins/beggars are only trying to make a living
