Cruise to Norway Empty
PostSubject: Cruise to Norway   Cruise to Norway EmptyWed Aug 10, 2011 7:37 pm

Hello there. Me and the Mrs have just come back from a 2 week cruise to the Fjords of Norway. We went up to the Artic circle as far as that island where that student was killed by a Polar Bear, so tragic.Anyway here is a few pics

That's summat you dont see everday a Polar Bear on a skateboard.

And this last one is "Thors" hammer, it's made from silver with a silver chain and cost about £40. It was like going home for me because my ancestors were Vikings. I felt a natural affinity for the true Norwegians, and you might laugh at this but it stirred some racial memories for me.

Hello Tonyw.
Hope you had a great time here.
Very sad that a student from England died in the encounter with a polar bear.
So you have Viking blood in your veins.
Maybe we're related.
It is said that my family came from Harald Fair Hair (Hårfagre)

Thanks for the nice comments really apreciated.no Scalloway i've never been to Shetland, i would like to.

Ole My surname is "Wilkinson" years ago it was "Wilkinsen" (Son of Wilkin) whom i believe was a Viking chieftain that settled in East Fife in scotland the family migrated to the south. Originally i come from Nottingham. I still get the urge to pillaging now and then lol!

Hello Scalloway. Have not been to Shetland.
But it may be that the Good Harald had no pants. This combined with the fact that he loved to travel. And when you're not good at languages. Do you have to use other forms of communication. Tony you will see that we are all related here.
Raiding is a sensitive subject these days I guess.
Regards Ole

Chris No luck about it. We had to save for 5 years for a fortnights holiday, alright it was spectacular but if we could have stayed longer we would have. The next Cruise is the Med, and we will have to save up for another 5 years, IF we are all still here. lol!

And Ole poor choice of words there but it was only a joke.

Hehehe understood that it was a joke Tony.
Must be so honest to say that I even had some words that were tempting to use.
It is quite expensive in Norway.
Many travel to Sweden to buy food.
Ole lol!
