Not knowing a thing about them BUT seriously thinking about  getting one...How on earth do you use one.......do you have to design what you need to print in some editing suite,as if it needs this then i am NO computer wizkid and wouldnt work for me BUT is it a case of and dont all fall down with laughter on this..........can you simply scan lets say for example a ships vent same as you would photocopying and away it will go.

Please enlighten me in the SIMPLEST way not high falouting replies of computer programming

Sorry Stav  but its not the latter. You need to be able to design the part using a 3D graphics package.

Well thats saved me a lot of money hasnt it  as I can use the lap top to look at sites etc but design well it's all goblegook to me haha,it is about time they designed one for ht elikes of me....put an object in ...it scans it then prints it ...hey ho back to the old fashioned way of makiing things....HUH so called modern technology

You can also find files online for free.

I have just bought one as a present from me to me!! Thumbup Thumbup Thumbup 

Already printed a servo mount for small servos, two scale three blade prop spinners for my son's electric mosquito model and a holder for his dcc controller for his railway layout, all the files were found online for free.

im with dave on this one...…………...even though I spent some years teaching tech drawing, I think i'll stick to making a part, as it would take me longer to design and then print than it would to scratch build...……..what a relief, as I was in the same boat as stav. lol.
