If you wet it with a brush dipped in water ever inch or so parallel with the boom before applying the coffee then hang to dry it'll appear as sun faded whilst sail was furled on boom.
Read it years ago on a scale yacht forum.

That's sounds a great idea Damien, if the sails are big enough - these are only 10 x 6 cm and that's the biggest lol!
