Bandsaw cutting badly to left any ideas? Empty
PostSubject: Bandsaw cutting badly to left any ideas?   Bandsaw cutting badly to left any ideas? EmptyFri Oct 13, 2017 10:30 am

Fired up my bandsaw a few days ago to make christmas toys for our grandchildren for xmas and every cut it  drifted to the left quite dramatically, I readjusted the blade guides without success for a true cut.

Any ideas to true the cutting action gratefully accepted.

Thanks in advance Damien.

Ps: I sent an email enquiry to GMC tools Canada without  reply.

Hi Damien, could be a few things....

Blade is worn out & blunt..
Incorrect blade tension..
Incorrect blade for material being cut...
Blade guides misaligned...
Pulley wheels worn or out of alignment...

Mark..

Thanks Mark I have spare blades I'll give it a try, the last time I used it I was hard on it cutting up 2 plastic computer chair bases to fit garbage the bin.
The wheel bearings and tyres seem fine not damaged or worn at all perhaps the rubber tyres have hardened I hope not as I've no idea where to get new tyres.

Damien.

if the bearings are ok, then as mark says probably guides, tension or a knackered blade............nothing wrse than plastic knackering a blade.........and then the thing does wonder. especially if it's a narrow blade........they are the worse for doing it.

hope it's sorted by now.

neil.

Been to cool to get at it today forecast is 27c I'll have a look at it.
the hassel is the whole table assembly has to be disassembled and removed to get at the lower guides I need a motorbike lift so I don't have stoop and bend to get under it.  lol!
