(I have removed the old post and started a fresh , apologies for not keeping some of the kind words already posted, thank you for them and i hope you will enjoy this thread a little more)

This is my first build log and my first ever wooden model kit.  So be nice or ill cry or tell my big brother on you... seriously though i will cry.... Crying or Very sad

Okay so when I started I was not going to make a build log so I am missing un-boxing photos Mad .

I was quite impressed with the kit though, a really nice colour manual with very detailed and clear photos. This was very good for my first attempt. The only thing I wish that it used more nautical boat terms and names, it would help in the learning progress.
Started this just before Christmas and had long periods of nothing happening Sleep Constructo Albatross 110

So I started with the hull duhh!!  clown
This was nice and easy except one rib where I messed up and it looked like it awful so I had to cut it off and sand and retry, I didn’t take any pictures of this as I was trying to pretend it never happened. Actually I am not sure why I am actually writing this right now..
So the next the deck plate was fitted tacked and glued, that was easy, but now it is bowed around the top of the ribs it is a nice curve, will be fun to plank that later bounce Constructo Albatross 210

Starting planking the main hull, this caused a few upsets and was the main reason for not a lot of action for long periods, It was not going to plan and I was struggling with getting it look how I wanted. I ended up doing about 4 planks down and then kept cutting off and redoing. It was not until May which I decided one evening it was going to happen that night or It was going in the bin.
So I cracked on actually it was not that bad.
I have learned some tips to help me on my next bit of planking, bit late for this one but I was still happy, I managed to plank it with full beams and no cutting so I have full beams from bow to stern.

It was at this point I did not like how the front of the planking came out, As per the instructions a groove was meant to at the bow to take a bow plank, as I was not happy with how it came out I will build up with a some putty later, as I have decided to paint the model this should not stand out like a sore thumb!

For some reason the top photo jumped to the top, it should be at the bottom.... ill just leave it.....

Next fun job to plank the deck,  I have not used thread for the corking and will use pencil for that later, I have decided to lay this plank by plank so I started to cut up strips and lay it, this was very time consuming but after tidying up and opening up the mast holes I am very happy with the over all look of the deck, it has a battered kind of look where not all planks are perfect.  bounce

The project is currently on hold as I wait for a couple of planks that I found to be missing from the kit.

I will be doing some more of the masts but i log them when i have made a little more progress
