a conversation I had not 15 minutes ago regarding a parcel due to be picked up today...............

they might be cheap, but their service is crap.

Shabnam: Hi, my name is Shabnam. How may I help you?


Shabnam: As you have not responded for a while, I will need to conclude this session in another two minutes.


John Howard - pritchard: I was told via email that your courier would contact me to ascertain what time of day a parcel would be picked up from me TODAY........... that contact never came and I had to pop out to the doctor this morning.........only to get back and find that the courier had been and left a note saying he had tried..........some bloody service, especially as someone else has paid for the service at the delivery end...........and you have no telephone number to make a complaint on.....the bar code is 95518819..............this isn't the first time I have had to complain about the awful service from hermes........make it the last.


Shabnam: I am sorry for the inappropriate conduct. I assure you that this is not common practice at myHermes.
Please give a moment while I quickly check this parcel details for you.


Shabnam: Unfortunately, I am unable to pull any details with 95518819, Could you please provide us with the 16 digit tracking number or delivery name and delivery post code.


John Howard - pritchard: 83-862-87-24961848-4 PL131LE


Shabnam: Thank you. Please give me a moment while I check this for you.


Shabnam: I have checked the tracking and can see that courier will collect your parcel anytime between 08:00 - 20:00 today.


John Howard - pritchard: HE HAS ALREADY TRIED BUT BECAUSE I WAS TOLD HE WOULD TEXT ME 30 MINUTES BEFORE CALLING I WENT OUT WHEN I DIDN'T RECEIVE ONE..........is he coming back later............AS IF NOT BY YOUR OWN ADMISSION TO IT BEING COLLECTED BEFORE 20.00 this evening, if he doesn't then it will be a breach of contract...........a serious matter.


Shabnam: I have checked the tracking and can see that this parcel is currently with the courier.courier will deliver your parcel within 1-2 working days.


John Howard - pritchard: THIS PARCEL IS SAT IN FRONT OF ME ON THE CARPET........................HOW ON EARTH CAN IT BE WITH THE BLOODY COURIER.


Shabnam: I am sorry please ignore the previous text, it was send you in error.


Shabnam: Please allow today your parcel will get collected today.


John Howard - pritchard: I hope so or I will be making serious complaints to the ombudsman regulating you as a company......am sick of your company's mistakes.


Shabnam: I am sorry for the inappropriate conduct of our courier. I assure you that this is not common practice at myHermes.

John Howard - pritchard: and as I asked before, what is your customer services TELEPHONE NUMBER, please.


Shabnam: Call 0844 644 3593
select 1 then select 5 and enter your parcel tracking number.


John Howard - pritchard: your above comment seems to be a standard automated reply.....how many times a day is that sent about courier behaviour, and finally, thank you for the phone number......as rare as hens teeth.


Shabnam: Is there anything else you wish me to assist you further


John Howard - pritchard: yes, make sure that a courier actually picks it up before 20.00 today, as I am not waiting in for another whole day tomorrow.


Shabnam: I am sorry for this delay, it is happens occasionally due to our scale of operations. i request you to please contact us back when your parcel get collected, then we will provide you the compensation for this inconvenience.


John Howard - pritchard: you have already missed one part of the contract by not notifying me 30 minutes before collection, and I now have to stay in all afternoon waiting again for collection...........how can you compensate for lost time at my age in life...............make sure the driver contacts me 30 minutes before collection on  * * * ***** * . thank you.


Shabnam: Unfortunately I am unable to forward this calling request to courier. this is because our courier are self employees and we do not have their contact details.


John Howard - pritchard: well, that is about as helpful as a chocolate fire guard then............how the hell does he therefore know to come back for the parcel today.




a great deal of help this shower at Myherpes are!!!

Neil,

I'm afraid all courier companies are the same. It all depends on the actual man on your round. I have to say we have no problems with Hermes, Parcel Force and Yodel. We know the names of the couriers who regularly call, and they know where they can leave parcels if we are out as they also service my daughters' shop in the village.

just waiting in now, with things to do that would be far more important and productive than sitting on my ascienda  doing sod all, whereas had they done what they said they would I would have been able to do those jobs......just a wasted day.

won't use them again.

I just use parcel force, you know they ship 20kg parcels for £15 right?

cheers mate.............I was told this afternoon when I complained that it would definitely be picked up by 20.00 hours this evening.........

well, guess what........................20.05 hours and still sat on my ascienda, waiting!!!

loosing the will to live, lol.
